5. Specials

Here are some special options. It should be save to leave them with their default setting.

Max fetch

Dont' fetch more than this many articles at once.

Initial fetch

If you subcribe a new newsgroup, you should only fetch this many articles.

delay body

Check this if you only want to get the Headers (and interessting bodies later).

Max cross posting

Don't fetch articles with more than this cross postings.

Max age

Don't fetch articles older than this.

Max lines

Don't fetch articles longer than this lines.

Min lines

Don't fetch articles shorter than this lines.

Max bytes

Don't fetch articles longer than this bytes.

Timeout short

If you don't read a "new" group, leafnode will fetch this group this more days.

Timeout Long

If you don't read an "old" group, leafnode will fetch this group this more days.

Timeout active file

Leafnode will refetch the groups every this days.

Create all links

If you want to have your newsreader score/kill on Xref: lines.

hostname

By default, Leafnode tries to generate the message ID of outgoing messages from the name of your computer. However, some upstream servers demand message IDs of a certain type. In this case, you can override the name of your computer by setting "hostname" to a sensible value. The use of "hostname" to create fancy message IDs is possible, but strongly discouraged.
